Unpopular opinion. I've never been a big fan of the Mandala® yarns from Lion Brand. I don't hate them, but I don't really like them either. I want to. I want to participate in the cult obsession around these yarns. I just can't get there. And I've tried many times. The colors look so beautiful in the cakes. But all of them (OG Mandala, Mandala Baby, Mandala Thick & Quick, etc) have a somewhat scratchy feel to me. Not the most offensive yarn I've touched for sure, but also nothing I want to work with. I remember it being around when I was learning how to crochet and that was an eternity ago. (Really somewhere around 1995.) I used it for a few blankets (including one I started for a boyfriend, gifted to him unfinished, we broke up, and I finished it and regifted to another boyfriend...) and maybe a scarf or two. There always seemed to be a skein sitting around the house and my whole family (even Dad) knew "Homespun." After those early projects I brushed it aside as a cheap novelty yarn. I guess I went through a yarn snob...
