Feels Like A Dream Yarn Review

I’d like to start by saying this yarn lives up to its name. It’s soft and lofty and I could snuggle into a pile of it and happily take a nap. (Ah naps. Unrealistic toddler mom life dreams. Haha.) I was skeptical of the yarn when I ordered it. Online it looked like it could be very similar in texture to Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Aire yarn, which I'll cover another time. However, the weight and fiber content is different. Wool-Ease Aire is a CYC6 super bulky blend of 74% Acrylic, 13% Wool, 13% Polyester while Feels Like A Dream is a CYC5 bulky 100% Nylon.

When the yarn arrived I was happy to find I was wrong. Although in the photos both yarns looked similarly fuzzy, Feels Like A Dream doesn’t have that frustrating velcro quality I struggled with in Wool-Ease Aire.

Here’s what Lion Brand says about the yarn:

“Every project Feels Like A Dream with this yarn! This bulky (CYC #5) yet lightweight yarn is soft as a cloud and perfect for plush garments and accessories. Each 3.5oz/100g ball offers an impressive 207yd/190m of machine washable and dryable yarn that combines luxurious texture with effortless care.”

The Stats: 207 yards; 100 grams; 100% Nylon; CYC5/bulky; Machine wash gentle, tumble dry low

“Soft as a cloud.”  Yes! I crocheted and knit with this yarn and both resulted in a super soft, light, cloud of fabric. If you’re making a project that needs some weight (like certain styles of sweater) then you should pass on this lofty yarn. But if you want to be enveloped in a cloud of yarn love then this is a must have. And the palette is beautiful. Currently there are 14 colors (as of February 2025), which gives plenty of options for color combinations.

Knit vs Crochet

I loved knitting and crocheting with Feels Like A Dream yarn! I already made my toddler a little crochet sweater (link to pattern below) and I ordered yarn to make another. She loves her "fluffly" sweater and I loved making it. This yarn is a complete win in my book for cozy knits or crochet projects.

What To Make

This yarn is very airy and lofty, so it may not hang correctly in certain sweater designs that need more structure. However, that doesn't mean it's not perfect for sweaters and cardigans. Wearing this yarn will be like being wrapped in a soft hug. You may also consider stitching up wraps, cowls, and scarves. Or light as air blankets. I would probably pass on this yarn for hats and also anything that has a stitch pattern more complex than the basics. Let it shine in simple stitches and patterns.
