Aiko Beanie - Knitting Pattern

This hat was inspired by the romantic texture and lace designs found in Japanese knitting. It seems fitting to give it the female Japanese name of Aiko.

The finished size given is measured with the ribbing relaxed. Hats should fit with negative ease, making the 16" relaxed rib circumference suitable for most adults. The lace pattern is both written and charted. 

 Featured Yarn: Knit Picks Capra DK; 123 yards, 50g, CYC#3; 85% Merino Wool, 15% Cashmere; 2 balls Tansy Heather

Needles

• US 4 (3.5mm) 16” circular needles, or size to obtain gauge

• US 6 (4mm) 16” circular needles & DPNs, or size to obtain gauge

Gauge: 24 sts and 24 rnds = 4" Aiko Lace stitch in the round on larger needles, blocked
