Hi, I’m Erica — the designer behind 1 More Row Designs.
I’ve been knitting and crocheting for most of my life. I learned to crochet when I was nine, picked up knitting in my early twenties, and pretty early on I realized I didn’t just love making things… I loved designing them.
My first published pattern was a pair of cabled lace fingerless mitts in Knitty. Since then, my designs have appeared in Interweave Knits, Knit Magazine (UK), Knit Picks publications, and more. I’ve designed intricate lace shawls, modern garments, home décor, accessories — and just about everything in between.
But 1 More Row Designs isn’t about complicated for the sake of impressive.
It’s about texture.
It’s about comfort.
It’s about projects you’ll actually use.
My Design Philosophy
I design pieces that feel elevated but achievable.
You’ll find:
Oversized blanket cardigans. Cozy throws. Modern pillows. Structured bags. Pieces that look intentional in your home and effortless on your body.
I believe handmade doesn’t have to be fussy to be beautiful.
And I really believe in finishing what you start — because there’s nothing better than binding off and thinking, Okay… maybe just one more row.
A Little Backstory
Before 1 More Row Designs, I ran an indie yarn and pattern company called Fiddle Knits Designs & Fibers. I hand-dyed yarn, published detailed shawls, and immersed myself in the creative side of the industry.
In 2017, I joined Lion Brand Yarn as an email marketing manager — a role that sharpened my understanding of how makers shop, what motivates them, and how creativity and strategy intersect. That experience changed how I think about design.
Now, 1 More Row blends both worlds:
Creative instinct + industry insight.
