Yarn Review: Jiffy Bonus Bundle from Lion Brand
This yarn is pure nostalgia for me and that may or may not color my review. When I first started crocheting (about 30 years ago. Yikes!) Lion Brand Yarn Jiffy was one of the memorable choices at my local craft store. Back then, in the time of the dinosaurs, there was less choice on the shelf for yarns that weren’t just your basic Vanna’s Choice or Red Heart Super Saver, Caron Simply Soft, etc. So Jiffy really stood out to my 9-year-old self. And then it went away.
Fast forward a few decades and Lion Brand re-launched the yarn as part of their “From the Vault” series. However, unlike other vault yarns this one has stuck around in a large put up “Bonus Bundle” skein. The colors are all muted solids, which I love. And the yardage is FANTASTIC!

From Lion Brand Yarn:
Back and bigger than ever! Jiffy is the latest yarn to be revived in our “From the Vault” series. This fuzzy family favorite is available for a limited time as a bonus bundle, which means there’s 681 yards in each ball. Stitch up everything from blankets to accessories and garments for the whole family. This 100% acrylic is machine washable and ready for everyday use!
- Yarn Weight: CYC5 / Bulky
- Yardage: 681
- Fiber Content: 100% Acrylic
Knit vs Crochet
I like crocheting with this yarn more than knitting it, however, it worked up nice either way. Crochet is just my preference here. If you also knit and crochet then you’re probably familiar with how a yarn can feel different through your hands depending on the craft. It’s an odd, but true phenomenon.
Try The Yarn
I designed my In A Jiffy cardigan using Jiffy Bonus Bundle yarn. I also used it for the crocheted Goose Island Cardigan. And most recently I picked it up again for my Park Lane Blanket Cardigan, which I've been living in this winter.
