Sample is shown in size 9-12 months on an 8-month old baby who also wears size 9-12 months in commercial brands.
Buttons: Buttons on baby garments are a topic of debate. Many large commercial baby brands do use buttons, however, making your own garment puts the decision in your hands. If you choose to add buttons make sure they are firmly secured against curious hands pulling at them. If you would rather skip the buttons you can simply work the ribbed band minus buttonholes. Do what feels right for you. Sample shown in size 9-12 months was worked without buttons.
