The 2x2 ribbing provides lots of stretch to the hat. Don’t be fooled by the 14” finish measurement of the larger size. It will easily stretch to fit an adult head of up to 23” circumference.
Needles & Leaves was the 8th and final pattern from the 2015 Fiddle Knits hat club: Head in the Clouds.

US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular needles & DPNs, or size to obtain gauge

US 8 (5mm) 16” circular needles & DPNs, or size to obtain gauge
Gauge:
28 sts & 28 rnds = 4” in 2x2 rib on smaller needles
18 sts = 3” in pattern stitch (relaxed) on larger needles
Notions: Yarn Needle; 1 fluffy pompom
Finished Size: Adult. 11.5” (14) relaxed forehead circumference x 8.5” length
