One day at a family gathering my grandma pulled out this old, well-worn baby sweater. It was tightly knit in a pale green acrylic yarn with tiny plastic heart buttons. My great grandma had made it in the early 60s for my aunt. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to make a replica.
In the original version the collar and button bands were picked up and knitted in seed stitch after the body. For mine I’ve chosen to work the collar and button band all together with the main body of the sweater.
Remember that the sizes given are meant as a guide. All babies grow at different rates, so take your best guess. If you’re unsure always aim for a larger size!
